Loo’s and Showers

We believe that our extra facilities are what helps to make Drybeck one of the best luxury outdoor holiday sites in the Lake District area.

For environmental reasons we decided to install compost loos. These have been described by some of our guests as “the quaintest and cutest loos they have ever used.” We manage and maintain them very closely to ensure they are as pleasant as possible to use.

As it is some distance from the communal loos the Lantern House has its own compost loo installed just behind it.

We have electric showers which provide plenty of hot water. You will also find eco friendly shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided by ourselves. This helps us to re-cycle the shower water for use in our gardens.

Hot Tubs

Hot tubs have become an increasingly popular request from our visitors.  We now have 3 tubs available.  The Wigloo and The Lantern House each have their own private wood fired tubs.  For those staying in either of the Gypsy Caravans or the Yurt we have a beautiful wood fired hot tub right on the river bank which can accommodate up to 6 people.  For more information on the pricing, booking and use of the hot tubs visit our FAQ’s page

  •   Lovely place to camp alongside a slow river. The big round tent is ideal to socialise with friends in the evening with a good meal from the cosy kitchen after a day's hike. The owners are always there to help. Lovely place!

  •   Stephen was really helpful. Large pitch for our tent, perfect for our group. Basic facilities but that didn’t bother us. Compost toilets, may not be for everyone. Lovely site. Situated right on the River Eden.
