At Drybeck we have 2 authentic gypsy caravans, both in idyllic locations close to the River Eden.
Each of them is in it’s own private space with views out across the river to the wooded banks opposite. If you are really lucky you may get a glimpse of an elusive otter.
Evelyn is in the style of a Reading Wagon and the slightly larger of the two. As well as the double bed which is at approximately waist height there is a single bed underneath which is ideal for a child up to approximately 12 years old / 5ft tall. This is nothing like roughing it; soft, warm quilts and bedding in a cosy wooden interior lit with lanterns help make a perfect romantic retreat for two or a fun getaway for up to 2 adults and a young child. On chilly evenings the wood-burning stove will keep you warm and snug.
Next to Evelyn is it’s own cookhouse with running water, a cooker and a fridge. It is fully equipped and has a table and chairs underneath a canvas awning.
Ruby is a Bow Top Caravan and again is perfect for a couple to create their own private retreat for a few idyllic days. It also has a wood burning stove warm bedding and lots of spare blankets making it very snug and cosy.
Ruby also has it’s own cookhouse to the side with running water, a cooker and a fridge. It is fully equipped and has a table and chairs underneath a canvas awning.
When staying in either Evelyn or Ruby you can enjoy a soak in our riverside hot tub. This is a beautiful wood fired hot tub just a few yards away which can be hired for your own exclusive use. For more hot tub info please visit our FAQ’s page
